Just a tip for those weary to replace 1.4 on their systems:

Don't uninstall 1.4 and just make sure you select a different install directory for 1.5 (e.g. C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse 1.5) when you install 1.5.

This will give you the ability to beta test the latest version, but retain the stability of 1.4.

BUG Scrolling text doesn't always 'blank' before refresh

Quote:
scrolling main title clears before it displays truncated text

That worked for me initially, but all of a sudden, the 'clearing' has ceased. It behaves like CF 1.4

Also, can you increase the scrolling speed? Twice faster at least! It takes forever to stare and watch the whole thing scroll through. While driving, no less!

Thanks a bunch.

Plugin specific languages are broken!!!!
(atleast this is the case on destinator plugin)

instead of fetching plugin specific languages... centrafuse fetches available languages for plugins from main language directory meant for core centrafuse. Now this could be feature instead of bug, like microsoft likes to comment. But then why the hell there is language selection separately for each plugin.

the volume does not go below 30%(2) asmentioned on top of post and the mute button is green but i can hear sound and the "mute" word (1) is off so the sound is on.

I think you will know what i mean.

your right.. that is a bug... it really is at 0, just a percent calculation problem...

And I also noticed a bug - in Windows if you increase volume from min to max, everything goes linear, but in CF 1.5, volume starts at 30% and at 52% reaches maximum! At 53% is minimum again and 100% is maximum. I have Via Epia SP with default (latest) drivers.

For now I am staying at 1.4, hopefully in next release it will be possible to manual set linear/logaritmic increasing of volume.

Best regards!

Uros

I set my powermate to send ctrl-alt-up and at the fastest rate and it seems fine to me...

We are used to seeing volume represented by a 0-100% slider, whereas, high end audio gear, specifically for the house, gauges volume by the dB level, which is what David has coded into the application. I think if he were to remove the "%" sign from after the integer it would make less confusion, or even better if he would have the integer divided by a specific amount to get the lowest (30db in this case) to display as 0dB, however, this would mean 100 as we know it (being a percentage) would now be something like 60-70db and would max out there.

I hope that makes sense. Unfortunately we have the mindset of volume being represented as a percentage of 0-100%, so we're confusing our selves with his new representation of volume level.

exactly... I use DB now, but still converted to percent and their is just some math problems with the display... will be easy to fix and properly represent...

if another song that is not the current playing song is highlighted in the list, the icon changes to play because that is the action it will perform... if you click to go back to home, then the action of the button again becomes pause...

basically it always should show what it will do...

-I also have a problem mention before (one scale of volume 30-52%, another 53-100%).
-When plugging in USB 1 GB key with 20 music videos (I turned off Windows autoplay as recommended in 1.5 release notes), a message box appears (reading tag information) of first song and nothing moves. I have to press "Cancel" to return to CF, but videos from USB are not loaded. I tried the same on my home machine with the same USB with the same videos, everything works perfect... it reads tag information of all music videos and load new playlist.
-I am still searching "older" drivers for my Via Epia SP, because I cannot control sub/rear channels in CF.
-comparing to previos release, 1.4 seems to be more stable and faster

2. On my home machine (915G chipset), everything is cool... there was a problem that everytime I came from DVD, Mixer or some other sections to MEDIA, volume decreased to 30%... but after reinstalling, problem disappeared.

Best regards!

Uros

The tag reader update display isn't properly closing sometimes... I will check it out, but I did reproduce it...

Do you use Powermate on Via Epia or some "stronger" computer? I use it on Via and I also have Powermate set to highest sensitivity, but when you move Powermate fast, you can look volume changing (decreasing/increasing) for another second on the screen Maybe it is a problem as you mentioned of using CF 1.5 on slower computers as Via.

About 30-52%...53%-100% problem... which version of drivers for Epia do you have?

Dr. Dolittle 2? I get a CD icon. Make sure you don't have a Dr. Dolittle picture file in the same directory as your unknown songs.
