I have encountered this problem with several types of low performance CPU/RAM setups. Once I built a high performance system it works flawlessly. Not just the visualizations, but the speed without delay is a joy.

What is your current CPU?

If it is a AMD, you stand a great chance with a RAM increase. If it's a Celeron you might want to consider using a front end that doesn't require much performance. Frodo Player runs great on just about any hardware.

this has been fixed in 1.7... The vis no longer locks up even on slower computers...
