This would cause the exact problem you are having. The dual audio is hearing the buffer, which is a few seconds behind, and hearing the direct audio from the XM devices throug the un-muted playback channel at the same time...

"playback of your line in channel un-muted"... umm, I'm confused. I have the "input line to control" defined to the XM plugin in CF, and I haven't done anything else to either mute or unmute any input. It's the only line-in in my system, and XM is the only thing on it.

Oh... I see what you're saying. But then isn't this a catch-22? The XM plugin needs to know what line to read from (so you tell it in config), but then is the plugin manager actually unmuting the line as it loads the XM plugin?

I'll play with it some more this morning. Thanks David.

posted some further niggles with RC2's NAV in the thread about missing NAV features...

I'll not cross post so they will stay where they are for now

Same problem here. I saw David's explanation about version numbers, but I haven't seen any guidance for completing the install once this message is encountered. Help would be appreciated.

Yup. I haven't been able to install RC2 on my desktop either, after removing the previous installation as well as going through the registry and removing any references to anything "flux media" related.

Manually deleting the Flux Media folder and sub folders should allow you to install RC2...

This will not be a problem with anymore releases, All new versions will work with your same RC2 release candidate serial number, no more "invalid license" and requesting a serial number everytime...

Don't know if it was already reported but the navigation does not really work for me.

when i navigate somewhere it gets the street correct but not the number.

When i put in my own address it sends me further down the street. Same when i put in other addresses of people i know

i'm using the 2006 (destinator 6) maps and i thought they did work in RC1

I just returned from a 2k mile road trip using CF RC2 the entire way and note the following:

General Impressions:

I must say I'm impressed. Pleasant surpises were stability, better sound quality and the way IG3 embedded perfectly.

David, I don't know if you did any thing more with the sound, but it seemed to be crisper. That's not to say that it couldn't still use DSP plug-in support, which I hope is on your future features list, but the sound quality is no longer a deal-killer for me.

Bugs

I encountered many of the bugs mentioned in this thread, the most annoying being the sticking key and web browser problems. I see from the update that they have been addressed or are being addressed.

I had lots of problems with XM using the XMPCR, however. The channels were very slow to load. Even then, the "ALL" portion of the channels only showed through channel 110, the "Talk" portion of the channels showed nothing and it continually forgot my favorites. I'm also unclear on what the "Refresh Channel List " setting in settings is supposed to do. If I click it a window comes up that says "Channel List Refreshing" and the window stays there until I hit OK. It seems to have no impact on the channels, however, and there's nothing contained in the settings box once I hit OK. Can someone explain how that setting works or is supposed to work?

Overall, good on yer, David and Fluxmedia!

Just saying when Centrafuse loads up, try to then load up the windows mixer and look in the playback controls... See if the line-in is un-muted, it should be muted and stay muted... Centrafuse is not un-muting it, but if it was already un-muted it might have stayed that way, then causing you too hear two audio sources...

note: If you hit pause you should not hear any audio, if you do then it's not coming from Centrafuse.. After you pause, unplug the cable from line-in, if the audio stops immedietaly, then your line is un-muted and it should not be... I have it on my list to mute the line you set to control on load of XM...

One thing I noticed was you MUST uninstall the previous version using control panel. NOT just by deleting the folder!
If you delete the folder and then clean the registry it still will not allow you to install, no matter what! I was lucky that I had the deleted folder in waste bin so I could restore it, then uninstall it properly, then it worked.

I couldn't understand what was stopping it though as there was nothing about flux or CF in registry, all references had gone, all folders had gone, including Phoco but it still knew that I had had CF installed! Maybe something to do with Windows Installer

Anyway peeps...
MAKE SURE YOU UN-INSTALL IT FROM CONTROL PANEL, THEN DELETE LEFT OVER FOLDERS

Unfortunately, it doesn't work despite my removing all apparent traces of the program from the computer. As you can see above, TJ is having the same problem. It doesn't seem like a licensing issue, but more like there's something left behind that we can't find which makes CF think there's an existing install. Is there any file or registry entry that doesn't have "flux" or "centrafuse" in it that could be causing the problem? Interestingly, the new version installed just fine on my carputer after I uninstalled the old version and deleted the folder.

John, I did use control panel to uninstall.

Cool.. okay. I'll play more with it. I have engine problems on my truck this morning so CF had to take a backseat.

I have a side question about the preload... "why?". I understand being able to pause the live audio, and I figure that you can rewind as well, but if preloading is costing us channel-hopping time (and giving you complaints) then maybe it's not such a good idea?

I know that I hope around a lot on XM (I'm using AIMEE now, and a dedicated head unit before CF) and if my surfing is "always" going to be slowed down, then, umm... ewww.

Control Panel uninstall, and there is no "C:\Program Files\Flux Media" directory, and yet there were still a ton of references in the registry which I manually removed.. and am still unable to install RC2. I'm thinking there must still be something else left behind in the registry that is preventing the install.

In RC2 I noticed for few times now that when I am watching music videos in full screen and click next or previous track, it happens that I hear 2 songs at the same time. I have to click Pause then and after that I only here one song from background (not displayed)?

And I also noticed that header with song title often doesn not refresh... next track is playing but header still shows previous song... even if you click another song, header is still showing pre-previous?

I haven't found similar issues in 1.7, only in RC2?
