OK, cool... did not see this listed in the Bug Fixes for RC4 though... no biggie, it is not critical at all.

An observation rather than a bug: It takes a really long time for CF to shut down when a large playlist is loaded - about two minutes for a 6k song playlist. Shut down was very prompt in the last version.

XMPCR still does not play nice with hibernation. If I go into XM at all and then hibernate, CF will be locked up when I resume. It makes no difference whether I switch back to media before hibernating. Your known bugs list refers to lock up with respect to favorites, but for me it happens regardless of where I go in XM. If I go to XM at all during my CF session and then hibernate, CF will be locked up upon resume.
I know you've said you'll be working on XM issues when you come up for air, but I hadn't seen it posted that hibernation is a problem generally with XM rather than just with the favorites portion.

Mmmz, ok, good news for me, less good news for David
Haven't come across the bug with RC3.1 on my new install (same windows version, same programs installed as far as I'm aware, same mp3s even in the same dirs... "just" other hardware... Asus A7V + Duron 1300 + 384MB have been replace by Asus P4B266 + Northwood 1.8 + 128MB (yeah... sucks... need more RAM, CF is not the most memory intensive program but 128 is barely enough for XP itself).

I tested and couldn't reproduce actually after I said that... once random is highlighted I can drag windows ontop of it and it always repaints properly...
We will see if it's still there after RC4...

This is the fix for it not remebering your playlists... It was not giving it enough time to save it, so it didn't show back up next time...
Now I wait until the playlist is saved before it can close, therefore your playlists will no longer disappear...

Very small skin-related bug:

(click for bigger picture)
Seems to only happen with the play/pause button in both Onyx WS day and night. My guess would be a miscalculation 'cause the skin's made for 800x400 (or something like that ) and I'm running it on 1024x768. Strange thing is that I haven't seen this on any other button. Come to think of it, I think this also happened in previous RC's? Also: it doesn't happen all the time. I'll try to get a better error description

David,
The ONLY way I can reproduce this (and consistently) is by brining up the Web browser with my Nexus skin. My Web Broswer skin covers the bottom controls in the screen when in fullscreen mode. So apparently THAT in particular causes the underlying controls not to refresh properly. Perhaps it is a bug in the Web plugin?

another known bug in 3.1 that I did not see in the RC4 Release notes:
Title scrolling is not working correctly! Sometimes, when you play a song with a long name, the title starts scrolling in a very strabge manner... it scrolls to the end, and then it loops through the last 4 steps of the scroll procedure.
Try it out with a long name and see what I mean. It works for SOME long names, and it fails for others. I cannot find a pattern. It was not happenning in RC3.0

Okay, I see. I hate to complicate your life any further, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to provide an option in settings to choose between saving playlists upon exit and not saving playlists upon exit. I routinely listen to playlists with many thousands of songs. One of my regular lists is 13,000 songs. Yesterday when I tried to exit with the 13,000 song list loaded I waited about five minutes and CF never did exit. I wound up having to do a reboot and when I got back into CF all my CF buttons and settings were gone. I had to reinstall CF to get back into business.
I do have a relatively powerful computer, so I'm wondering why it takes so long to save the lists. I don't know if there's anything you can do to decrease save time, but if you can't it seems the save/don't save option in settings would be a help. I know other users listen to very large playlists and am surprised noone else has mentioned this issue.

You know it's saved if the same list is loaded when you restart CF.
I played around a little more. You're right - saving isn't totally consistent. For me, smaller playlists seem to save and load consistently; however, when I load my 13k song list onto my desktop, exit CF (takes about 45 seconds to exit) and restart CF the playlist is not present. My 6k song list does appear to save and reload properly.
Update: Playlist save, even of my big list, seems to work fine in my car; it just takes a long time to exit CF (close to two minutes for 13k song list). Ultimately, hibernation is likely going to make this a minor issue for me, especially if David is able to add the option to not save playlists upon exit. I can't do much with hibernation until the XM hibernation issue is resolved, however.

I see it at each release since Version 1.6....I wondered it was due to my non standard resolution...
