Surely these modules are slowing things down a little when they aren't required?

3D view still pretty much turns to 2d view when you zoom out

Can CF be made to grab new windows that an embedded program may spawn? Then use the back arrow to go back to the embedded app from new window.

John

As long as you don't click radio, sat radio, nav, phone they will NEVER LOAD or take any memory... Just remove them from your button actions and you are good, you will gain NO MEMORY...

I plan to allow the settings screen to read from an XML file so you could remove them from their too, but no reason to take them out of the app, it would gain nothing...

Now removing plugins will speed things up and does work...

that's destinator's current 3D mode... I like tilting it back a little...

Would have to look into this new window.. I would have to trap some event and detect the window and it's parent and embed it, etc... Not easy, but will think about looking into it when I get everything else sorted out...

Au Contraire !
There are plenty of work left if you choose to.

I see different solutions...

1. Get a TMC enabled GPS reciever and live with it.
Fine, a quick and easy solution. But for people like me that will not
settle for anything but the best it's simply not an alternative.
Why ? Because you wont have dead reconing since there isn't
any TMC / dead reconing GPS unit out there.

2. Use the TMC data from an RDS capable tuner.
This is an expensive solution (not your problem) but one that I'd
consider the best. You'll have a good tuner with good reception (HQCT).
Then we could use a dead reckoning GPS for GPS data and merge that
with the TMC data off the HQCT.

3. Use TMC data off a TMC GPS reciever. The advantage over an RDS reciver
is that you wont have to translate the RDS stream into "GNS-speak".
Besides that.... no advantage really.

David,

I know you're going to clean up XM, but I thought I'd point out that if you maximize the viz while listening in XM the song information that's shown at the bottom is the information from media rather than XM.

This is interesting, because a lot of my MP3s are encoded in VBR, however with RC3 and RC4 I no longer have issues with next song triggering correctly, which was always an issue for me with older versions.

I complained couple of days ago that after 3.1 update failed my mp3:s didn't automaticly do the next track procedure after the song ended. I noticed that it was because of certain MP3 files when it did that. They are variable bitrate MP3s. Centrafuse seems unable to calculate correct lenght of the VBR files as the bitrate changes constantly. When I setup CF to show how much is left of the song - It'll show for example when the song is almost at the end that there is still -1:12 left of the song. Then it just jumps to zero and doesn't go the next track.

It was fixed it the VBR file has a proper header that tells the length, it will now work...

It must be VBR files without proper, or properly formatted headers...

Therefore it doesn't know the length, and I don't konw when it's over to switch tracks...

It use to not work with VBR at all..

Some issues (Media, Navi)

Hi, why does it reset visualization everytime CF starts? When I enter media, click the thumbnail until there is not Viz (I hate stuff like that :-) ), when I then restart CF it fires up visuals again in the thumbnail?

Auto start music only works when I ask it to start up in Media, is this on purpose? Quite annoying, it was not always like this.

The auto-skin change times are still shown as AM/PM on my 24h system.

The road selection issue you already know about, and the incorrect speed in navi, to mee it almost looks like the speed is set at 1/10 of the real speed, but then again sometimes it doesn´t even care to update it and just leaves it at 1km/h :-)

Didn´t you use to have an auto-detect GPS button (at least Baud rate and SIRF/NMEA)?

Bug? - Phonecontrol

I have a SE K800i connected via Bluetooth.

Tried with M$ BT drivers, it found the phone but as a PDA, scans COM ports, finds the right one, but when i choose it windows error, which I do have screenshot and text of if PhoCo dude wants it.

I then installed the original drivers for BT, found the phone as a phone, but when scanning the port nothing happens, it cannot find it. I can see that the computer talks to the phone, and com communication works just fine, it just doesn´t find the phone.
If i run the Phonecontrol test program, and choose the port and run a test, everythings looks just fine.

I also have the song not going to the next song issue...will check to see if its on a vbr file the next time it happens

I also have a 2nd bug re: playlists. When I go to create a playlist for a specific folder it says it creates fine, but it will error when I try to play it. Also if I go to view the list it shows empty (0/0). 8 have been able to create another list just fine. Further, if I try to delete this "bad" playlist it will error then too. I have attached the playlist for you to look at...I think it has something to do with the ID3 tag, but it works fine in winamp (the tags).

D3 maps will not work with Street City. Also we've had problems where D3 maps don't show all the streets. Are you having the same problem?

You can't type using a regular keyboard - it jumps in the list only. Is that the "keyboard control doesn't work when you use web browser, navigation, or external application because they take over keyboard control" problem?

When selecting "Go" it should use the currently selected destination rather than having to use right arrow
eg. I use suburb/street -> enter suburb, right arrow, enter street, right arrow, select number, go OR right arrow. "go" ignores the selected number.

I am using older Destinator Australian maps. Could that be the problem?

Another mug, when playing a video, CF crashes at the end of the video. I'll email you the error log. This is random, sometimes it will start the video again, but other times, it will just crash

Shell mode will not quit into explorer.

GPS speed is still wrong, searching however, seems faster and more accurate to the input.

D3 maps are never meant to work and should not even be tried... 06 maps are what it is designed for, PN maps might work...
