Exactly the same problem

This bug is there since RC1 and I've pointed it out everytime. This time it got even worse. You don't seem to filter the id3tag fields correctly it seems, because there is a square character behind the album name, in this version more albums are affected. Real showstopper! BTW: Neither foobar2k, itunes, wmp nor Winamp show these characters.
I'll attach an image this time, so I hope it get's noticed!

What were your mp3's created in. Centrafuse has never had a problem reading 15000+ mp3 that were created with EAC. Ive recently started rebuilding my mp3 collection from my CDs using itunes (coz its fast) and actually adding album art this time. I tested the latest version of Centrafuse with about 1200 of the new mp3 files and it only found 2 albums out of about 55. the first album is fine the second is just an "unkown album" which has the rest of the mp3 files which just lists the file names and not the actual tag info. I tried reimporting several times, each time CF reports it had imported all 1200 but still only shows 2 albums. Also i get the square at the end of the only album CF detected. There is a plus, Cf reads the album art fine! (so far)

Edit: This could be related to known bug 3: check for "Album Artist" before Artist, if it is available when reading tags

Posting from the car... on RC4 and now a fresh install of RC4.1 (Uninstalled 4, deleted the dir, etc)

After adding a D-Link DIR-450 EVDO Router to utilize my verizon card, CF throws up the error on the attached image. The Router is in its basic configuration except for the wireless encryption and the fact that it uses 192.168.41.0 as the network.

This is the only thing i've changed. It happens after an 'amount of time', and I can restart CF normally each time. Nothing in the error log.

can you check the memory when this happens? It could be the memory leak that was causing this, which has already been found and fixed...

Does it go away for sure when you remove the d-link?

Try removing the weather plugin and web plugin, both internet related, and see if it goes away...

CF is using 137 Mb when this happens.

I gotta unplug the D-Link and see what goes on. I've tried JUST running the weather plugin, and JUST the IE plugin..and it runs fine! But as soon as I open iGuidance (which is wrapped in SKINBedder and was added as an application in CF Settings), a few minutes later that error comes up. CF and iGuidance close, but SKINBedder still shows up on the taskbar.

It might be iGuidance, but even if it is, why is CF closing??

When i play video's fullscreen, i takes about 30sec's tapping on the screen before controls pup up. I use a Sempron 3000+ with 512MB, so hardware speed can't be the issue.

Might be your double click speed settings in your touch kit? does it do it when using a mouse?

There were some improvments to the pulling up of the sliders in this upcoming release as well, I found some bad code...

The CPU isn't spiked when you are trying is it? The video isn't stuttering is it?

another bug i noticed and i think it's carried on from RC4 as I noticed it then as well. When you've queued anything (either video/audio, playlist/non-playlist) in Shuffle mode it re-shuffles all over again when you come out of hibernation. So say you've got 5 tracks:
1 *
2 *
3 *
4 <- current track
5
(* denotes it's already been played).

when you come out of hibernation it loses the previous shuffled tracks and:

1 <- current track that is playing
2 *
3
4 * (track that was playing)
5

hope that makes sense.

So, it plays a different song when it comes out of hibernation than it was when you went into hibernation?

A new one... I just configured a new CarPC from scratch and found a new issue with RC 4.1. I'm getting a string of font errors:
11/21/2006 4:24:50 PM
Font 'Century Gothic' doesn't support style 'Regular'.
at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(FontFamily family, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont)
at System.Drawing.Font..ctor(String familyName, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet)
at centrafuse.Plugins.CFPlugin.setlabelskin(String whichlbl, MouseEventHandler clickEvent, MouseEventHandler downEvent)
I get 6 of these each time I start CF.

You must have changed the skin.xml file and changed the font style... Are you using the default skin?

Nope, Nope and Yeup. This happened straight out of the box. Fresh install of XP SP2, .NET 1.1, CF RC4.1.

The new box isn't fired up at the moment, but I figure I'm looking to see if all the <FONTSTYLE> tags flipped to "Regular"? And then to fix this I should kick them to "Bold"?

I'll fire it up in a bit and let you know what I see....

fatejd - no it plays the same song but say if you were playing a whole album it will re-shuffle all the album songs again so some of the songs that you already played before hibernation are back in the mix again when you start playing after hibernation. make sense? in other words, shuffle only shuffles properly when you play a whole selection before you hibernate.

I'm on the box now...

The skin is set to Onyx WS. All of the hundreds of FONT data elements in both WS Day and WS Night show:
<FONTNAME>Century Gothic</FONTNAME>
<FONTSTYLE>Bold</FONTSTYLE>
If I look at the available fonts from the control panel FONTS applet, I do NOT see "Century Gothic", but I see "Century Gothic Bold". If I open WRITE, I see a choice for "Century Gothic", and if I highlight a section of text, I see no difference between "Bold" and "not Bold". (the font itself definitely looks bold)

fwiw, this new box is an M10000, using the on-board video. All drivers are the latest available from the Via website.

David,

when is the advanced graphics mode coming back? Because it makes Centrafuse that much better.
I'm going to add a nVidia FX5200 based PCI graphics card to my M10000 board, coz the onboard graphics is seriously lacking.
