1)when resuming from hibernation, the music does not resume until you touch the screen.

2) when playing a video, and plugging in a usb jump drive with a picture on it, the video continues playing. however when you eject the jump drive or pull it out, the video somehow backtracks about a minute or two....

I will look into number 2, but the first bug you report I cannot reproduce and has only happened to a couple of people ever...

do you have all the latest drivers on your system? sounds like a driver issue...

could you explain:

"The option to turn on & off directions list doesn't seem to work properly in the off state."

so I can reproduce and fix.... What does it now do and what steps do I need to take to reproduce the error...

david

When on a route, it will show a list of up and coming turns on the right of the screen, this cannot be switched off once activated, and if you press the close button it just re-appears next time it prompts you for a moneuver.

When you say D7 is an 'UPGRADE' does that mean it will be a $£$ extra or an UPDATE? This should be included in the GPS version of CF as the NAV section is the weakest point of CF currently IMO. People have moaned about Destinator since version 3.0, lets hope D7 is noticably better

Also have you gotten anywhere with the POI/Speedcam warner?

Any news on making CF capture more than one window (with a different window name), and maybe also dialogue boxes which may or may not appear from an embedded app? You said you might look into this a few months back.

you can disable auto show turn by turn dialog in navigation settings, it's an option...

There will most likely not be much of an upgrade price, hopefully just sent down a better engine through the updater... if so it will be minimal I'm sure, up to Destinator...

I have no issues with Destinator, I actually have done US cross country driving and had it perform better than many/most navigation softwares...

maybe it's your maps or region? I do miss street names in 3D mode, but that's about it... It's already been added and I have the alpha for D6/D7 and I have seen it working, looks nice!

still working on the speedcam... I have all the favorite importing working and reading most all file formats, just need to get the hide/show on map and alert working...

I have not looked much more into external apps...

current plans are fixing bugs and making this application stable so it can be offered to the users that want it, then I will get right back to adding features and posting the next generation Beta's...

I have so many ideas and things I want to add I was forced to finally put a stop or I would be adding features for the next 10 years the way my brain works

have to finish one at one point, then I can start adding features again and I can't wait!

I hope this ain't mentioned yet, but if i play a DVD, i have 1 small problem.

When the DVD menu starts, you have to click on 'play movie', or 'select chapter', or something like that. When i tap one selection, the DVD controls pop up, so there's no way to start the movie. This was no problem before, when there was double-tap.

Dont know if this was an option or not...but when in the DVD screen...there are no button sounds...for me i like this because when viewing DVD's or videos you have to turn the volume up louder then mp3's...and the button clicks and beeps are too loud...can you turn off the button clicks for video's as well...

never thought about it... basically because you have your volume so load for your video, the button clicks are way too load...

maybe I can make button click volume a percent of the current volume so it goes down as the volume goes up?

You should also still be hearing it in DVD, I will look into this...

First of all let me congratulate you on a fantastic frontend.

I have noticed one small problem. I don't know if it's specific to my setup (although I don't think anybody else has ever mentioned it). The problem is my cam which is connected to the composite input on a Hauppauge PCI TV card.

After setting up the cam video source to composite in the settings menu, it works perfectly. When I reboot the system, I need to enter the settings menu again and reselect the composite input again before the cam works. The setting itself has been remembered - I just need to enter the cam menu, press the save button, then it all works perfectly (It's as if the act of entering the menu or saving the config "initiates" the device)

I hope this makes sense and I look forward to your reply,

PJ

if you've got a dvd with some scratches on it, or something that would cause it to freeze, cf also becomes unresponsive. i can't exit out of the dvd player or use the menu button or anything.

kftqq is an unknown quantity at this point
I found a (minor) bug the other day...

Set CF to run as shell, and set the 'Main Page Exit Button Action' to 'Exit Menu'. When you select 'Exit' from the exit menu, CF exits but does not load windows explorer shell. If you leave the 'Main Page Exit Button Action' as 'Exit', it works fine. I don't remember this being a problem in RC4.4, but I haven't had a chance to check it for sure... I've checked this on my laptop and it's the same story here also....

I've only just gotten my car back from the garage after the latest theft attempt, and have gone straight from RC2 -> RC5 (with a full uninstall of course). Apologies if some of these have already been brought up.

So far I've found the following bugs:

- The sticky volume control has come back occasionally. You start using it and when you stop using it the volume control stays open, but does not change volume, can be fixed by hibernating then unhibernating
- There is still some stuttering occasionally on the voice directions from destinator, it's kind of like what you get in Half Life 2 if you have a crappy system and old soundcard drivers, but I am running the latest sound card drivers
- Switching to the media screen still mutes the sound.
- Still no control over the rears and centre/sub volume sliders
- Still resuming from hibernate at full volume. A single tap of volume up or down sets it to the correct volume (plus or minus one notch, obviously)
- One incidence of a "resource missing" error of some sort, telling me to check my setup. I couldn't get the exact message as it appeared behind the sticky volume control.

Edit: Regarding the DVD volume thing mentioned a few posts above, perhaps each module could be given it's own preamp setting so that you can adjuse the volums of each module relative to each other. Similar to how Windows Vista is doing, and how my ancient Pioneer CD head unit used to to.
