If you make it a plug-in, you will be able to interact with the rest of CF. So for example, you could find some clever ways to alert the user of an upcoming maintenance... like play a specific song, or put some alert text on the header, etc.

Anyone else want to do a seperate program so everyone can use it (b embedding it in their particular frontend) and not just CF users?

You could have the program ITSELF do that, no need to have CF do it!

How are you going to have a standalone app be able to display text within the centrafuse header? If you're a centrafuse user you know what I'm talking about. Oh, and if you're a CF user you wouldn't have a problem with this being a Plugin!

How would you like GPS to be integrated? From what I gather it would be useless as the GPS is not locked all the time, and if you drive with the PC off you would not be able to log any data. I know for a fact that I will make short trips to the shops and stuff like that without having the PC turn on.
If I'm missing something here, please do tell!
Also, how would you calculate MPG? You know how much fuel you put in, and how far you have travelled since last refuel, but you dont know how much fuel was used since last refuel...or am I missing something here too? Maybe its all these late nights I seem to be having lately!

I'll answer your questions in a PM tomorrow, it's off to bed for me now.

You punch in the current miles, and the amount of gallons you fueled. The software is able to determine travelled miles by substracting the last mileage entry from the current one. So you have everything you need to calculate mpg.
Also, this assumes you are always completely filling up your tank, but that is almost always a given (for me?)

Ahhh, I get it now...as long as you fill it up, the amount you put in must be the same as the amount you used since last refuel...told ya these late nights were getting to me!
Just waiting on some help from David before I can really get cracking with the plugin...but its starting to take shape already.

Jarrod,
Send me a PM. I will help with the visual layout, and the graphics/art for this project. (if you accept the help, that is)
