Have to admit that your draft is so much better than my work,
although, I haven't begun skinning yet, but after seeing this
I don't think there is any need for me to do so either..

Good stuff!
I'm also envisioning...
• Configure your vehicle's make/model/year and this gizmo tracks TSB alerts
• Enter dealership/repaircenter preferences == POIs to them as maintenance comes due.
• As you near configured LowTankLevel, preferred fuel vendor POI's pop as well.
Who needs development resources?
How can I (we) help get this done?
you guys freakin' rock!

A slightly different concept mockup... Maintenance and Refuel buttons are now in their corresponding boxes, instead of at the bottom....

Damn this will be awesome. Does anyone have a VW/Audi? I'd like to see VAG-COM software skinned for the touchscreen.

I can't wait for this to be released.
I beg for it to be fully automated through gps. I don't know my mileage because I've replaced my gauge cluster with a monitor. (the odometer hasnt worked in years anyway)
I would be willing to input my fuel-ups, because that would be necessary, but my gps is always going so it would be pointless (and impossible) for me to input my mileage manually.
I think a big, important part of this is the digital dashboard. This program should be able to produce a screen with skinnable gauges displaying current speed, heading, RPMs, etc. It should also be easy to direct this dashboard to a secondary monitor, as with the other parts of centrafuse.
Thanks for all your efforts!

Vinister:
So far this is only in the concept stage. All I have is a spec, and a mockup -- Jarrod expressed interest in developing the plug-in, but there is nothing concrete yet.
If Jarrod doesn't follow through, I'm sure someone else would be willing to work with me in developing this.
GPS integration has been discussed -- I don't envision this as being GPS-enabled from the get go, but perhaps future versions will have this. Who knows.

I definately intend on going through with coding this, if not just to learn the plugin interface for CF as my setup will be going in very soon (just waiting on a few little parts).
GPS will NOT be included in the initial release, but definately will be done later on. I think the best thing would be to get the majority of the plugin working manually, then automating (GPS, OBD) it will be much easier.
That second screenshot is looking VERY nice indeed!

Fuel-up screen
Mockup of fuel-up screen. This would be where you enter a new fuel-up activity...

Regarding above "fuel screen" - een if GPS, OBD II, etc sn't automated now, it would still be nice to have as much automated/as simple as possible..
I.e. Date could be auto filled wth current date on carputer OS (but changable if desired for some reason), should auto remember settngs like fill up, and what grade octane, maybe when you hit vendor a box pops up with the various logos (chevron, shell, 76, etc.. and you could add your own if desired).
Just some thoughts..

That is exactly the way it is supposed to work. Download the Palm app KarKare, which I have linked in my first post, and check it out. Everything you described works that way. And that is how we plan to make this plugin work too.

Since I don't use Palm that wouldn't help much.. was just offering a suggestion though based on that static picture and how I saw it working.
