IIRC DVB-t is European ONLY!

And DVB-t will NOT work if the aerial is moving, it has to be stationary to pick anything up

It also seems to need plenty of CPU grunt too as when I run TV on its own its fine, but with other programs running it gets jumpy

You can with DUAL TUNER (I have one. Works over 150 km/h) but it is not PC. I can't find the same thing (DUAL tuner) for PC...

What differences does it being a dual tuner make? Is it dual as in two dvb-t tuners or dual as in one analogue and one dvb-t? If one is analogue then that obviously isn't dvb-t working whilst moving. If it is 2 dvb-t tuners then I still don't see the relevance of how it being dual makes it work whilst moving. The fact its dual just means you can watch one program and record a different one, or record two different ones.

You can get dual tuners for PC. Most usb ones are dual as in one analogue and one dvb-t. There are some true dual dvb-t tuners, they are mostly PCI (or the terratec cinergy one is PCI-express). I have used the Win TV NOVA T-500 in a media PC but not car PC. Works well, have no idea about on the move, but I suspect it wouldn't. It's just 2 of the same tuner that a single card has. So if your's does actually record using dvb-t on the move then it's not because of the fact it's dual, must be some other reason, good tuner or signal maybe.. ?

I meant DUAL DVBT TUNER and not one analogue and one DVBT.

It seems you don't have understood why DUAL DVBT TUNER.

This is because when you drive, you will lost reception of signal. With the second tuner, you will recept another signal and the brain of the card will compare the two signal and will mix them in one output, more stable, uncutted.

DVB-t CANNOT be picked up on the move!!! No matter how many tuners, or what aerial

Only analogue!!!!

As Coucouillu says, the one that works on the move or when digi signal is weak is analogue

sorry guys... I have kept too much information for myself...

I put the magnetic antennas of the TerraTec Diversity on the roof of my car and started a short testride around the corner (only on interstate <100km/h) - certainly It works as I expected: beautiful.

The TerraTec driver itself is a BDA driver so CF needs quick BDA support. If someone can send some code to David he might be somewhat happy...

What document

If I am proven wrong fair enough But from the research I did, the motion thing is a limitation with the DVB-t protocol which means the aerial MUST be static to receive a useable signal.

You shouldn't be watching TV on the move anyway

I'm sorry, forgot to give a link

Here is what it says:

"Likewise, using the Diversity function in DVB-T service areas allows for interruption-free reception while traveling - ideal for long train rides or for entertaining children in the back seat of your car."

I didn't test though.

Hmmm. So it should work!

All I know is that on mine if I even so much as slide the aerial across my window sill the signal dissappears. Someone else on here told me that was a physical limitation of the DVB-t Protocol and thats why the likes of BMW don't use DVB-t for their incar TV i-drive module...

Maybe the info is wrong!

SURELY.

Only DUAL DVB-t tuner could work on the move.
