CFMapPoint ready for Beta?

Here is a list of the remaining features that I think *must* be implemented before it goes from Alpha to Beta:
  1. Implement full Nav Menu and Setup UI
  2. Easily add Current Location to Route
  3. Lock mode "Current Location + Route End" needs to work correctly
  4. Lock mode "Current Location + Full Route" needs to work correctly
  5. All hard coded strings need to go in to language XML
  6. "Update Construction Information" needs to work correctly
  7. Add "Update Construction Information" to the UI

#6 and #7 are a stretch, but are there any other "must have" features or bugs that need to be implemented before the plugin should go Beta?

I think we're pretty close.
Yes, I am aware of some auto-zoom problems, etc; a lot of that is covered by #3 and #4 above...the rest is what the Beta is for!

My biggest concern is the lack of a "Favorites" section.
Is this a must have feature? I haven't even thought about how this should work. Anyone got any ideas how this should flow?

Finally, are there any bugs [not mentioned above] that need to be fixed before going to Beta?

Thanks!

Pv

I voted "yes"... You're way beyond what most companies release as beta. The plugin is stable and most importanly incredibly useful. I think you'd be well served by kicking it to Beta status thus (hopefully) drawing in more testers that would otherwise be scared off from a piece of "Alpha" software.

Regarding a "Favorites" feature... for the driving that I do, it's not important since I don't take a lot of long distance repeat trips. I know people that do, but I think something like this could even be held off until version 2.

I haven't used much else of Centrafuse, so I won't know very well how it plays along w/ the other features.

I think he's thinking down the lines of "if I'm using voice annoucements in MapPoint, then any music playing should mute when the MapPoint plugin gets focus".

DOUBLE REPLY sorry

I was wondering about map-point. When I load it there are all these menus and stuff all around but in streetdeck and this mod also you only see the map. Are you guys in fullscreen mode or disabling those menus. Kinda curious about that part of it.

I get itchy to write code as well, and I've reinvented the wheel a number of times. Sometimes I get a better wheel, most times I don't.
