Phone Plug-In bugs / features
I have been playing around with Phone in RC4, and have found quite a few "things" you might want to look at:
Pop-Up SMS feature does not work with local special characters, they work just fine in the normal SMS mode and the contacts section.
Message time stamps in the SMS folder are shown in 12h clock mode, but my system should be 24h.
It would be nice to have the option to disable the SMS Pop-Up dialog box and to keep it but
disable the sound when an SMS arrives.
In phone module it is possible to navigate with the arrow keys, up down and left right, but whenever you do a left/right navigation the arrow keys stop working, until you single click on something. Example open phone, click on missed calls, not the arrow keys work, use the arrow keys to navigate to SMS, hit enter, now arrow keys donīt work until you single click (select) a sms, now arrow keys work again. Not in single-click mode.
Signal Bar seems to never update???
When I receive a call the pop-up appears on the screen and music mutes, but then the pop-up box disappears, quite annoying that I have to go to the phone section to finish a call. I think the dialog box should stay there (except maybe in GPS mode), until i finish the call (perhaps make a disappear button for those who donīt want it there).
After a call is ended by the other party, it takes 2-10 seconds before music starts up again, i assume this is because PhoCo polls the phone and does not have a constant connection, this annoyance might be improved if the previous suggestion is implemented, then I could disable the call manually.
The ignore feature which lets the phone just ring out, and starts the music again is still a missed feature :-)
Since music is muted during a call anyway, why not change the text in the top line (the one usually showing which song is playing) to the name (or number if person is not in the address book) of the person Im talking to?
Is it possible to change phone profiles via PhoCo? Would be very cool if it automatically switched to the Car profile when CF connects to the phone.

Erase the filename in SMStone option of BasicSettings.

Set option UseCMER in your Communication section to True and set its mode attribute to 3,2,0,1. This will cause that the phone will report events such as an endig call immediatelly.

If you have a SE phone (which you have) you may try to add this command in AdditionalInit in your Communication section:
*EAPS=x;
whereas x is a number between 1 and 7 (number of profile). What number you need to place there you'll best find out by trying this with HyperTerminal.
This will cause to switch the profile as soon as PhoCo does a reinit. Be aware that you'll have to switch it back manually.

I wonder if David knows this, he mentioned some time back, i think when we spoke of the "ignore" feature, that the phone did not report back when the call was finished.....
Perhaps this should be default on CF installations?
About the profile thingy, would this work also when the pc is suspended instead of shut down every time? Is it an init command that is called everytime cf reconnects of only the first time?
(I canīt test that for myself right now).

This feature is wokring only on SE phones. So it's not a real solution.
Beside, I did some changes in the "InCall" notification. In previous versions PhoCo didn't pass the state when the caller has dropped the call.

It's supposed to work with hibernate because PhoCo closes the connection on hibernate and reinits on wake up. Not sure about suspend (guess not).
The AdditionalInit is a part of the initialization process. It will be done every time PhoCo reconnects, regardles of the nature of the reconnect.

To ADD to this,
If you were listening to the radio running, then switched to media, if you phone rings, it will pause the mp3s but you will now hear the radio that is still on in the background..
If I retreive the call in the phone, PhoCo will disconnect the call after about 2mins..
The network status bar is not always accurate.. i beleive it's normal because of the 30s. bluetooth refresh rate right ?
It would be nice to have a fast dialing option
Thanks v. much
