Debugging

What is the best way to test the builds while developing? It would be nice to be able to build the solution in the VS.net IDE and then automatically launch CF to be able to debug and test. I tried setting this up but didn't have success. What have you guys been doing?

One good tool to help debug is to use the CFTools class to write info to the error.log file to help you debug... I generally just compile, copy the the DLL, and launch Centrafuse...

I might look into building some way to launch to the plugins outside of Centrafuse for testing, but that currently is not possible...

I have been coping over the dll myself, or if you are really lazy just set the output directory for the dll to the plugin dir in centrafuse.

there is also a way to have VS load centrafuse when you press f5

its in project properties ->debugging -> set type to external app and then direct it to centrafuse

It's a pity that Console.WriteLine("whatever"); doesn't work, or am I missing something ?

I'd like to have some debuginfo present on screen rather in a logfile.

use centrafuse's dialog boxes

this.CF_systemDisplayDialog(CF_Dialogs.OkBox, this, false, "Enter what you want to see here or a variable");

Worst case, just use System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine
