Even the Lexus skin is closely tied to the Onyx Black skin in layout.
Im out of steam now RSI is taking over on my hands, too much typing
Just how skinnable is CF?
centrafuse is very skinable, everything can be moved around & layouts & window sizes can be changed no problem, but the overall structure isn't completely flexable like rr, which is ok really cause the overall structure of cf is real solid & works great. the xml's are pretty intense but once figured out are at least managable, once someone does the skin editor again it'll be easier to change stuff around too...
the graphics are the easy thing to play with, that's why most are just color & button changes so far really....
as soon as I can buy cf I'll build myself another custom skin for cf

Well i guess i have changed a lot of things but photoshop is really flex so i can drop the layout and make 4 versions in less time it takes to you to say sjuksköterska (nurse) or sjukhus (hospital) in Swedish! (these words are almost inpossible for forengainers) I allready put all the makers in the PSD file for easy modding! On friday i get my 7" screen so then i will also make a color profile for it so that what you guys see is the same color is see (i use my colorspectrometer "blue eye")
Ohh yhea who wants to be beta tester? (drop me a private msg)
To be beta tester you have to be
1 Brave
2 Know Centrafuse inside out
3 Have carputer (i want to see screen shots with my skin)
4 Some understanding about how skinning works
5 Be able to send me feedback about the skin.
GO!

Very Nice!
FYI I preferred the first concept you came up with.
One thing I'd be worried about though is the bottom row of buttons might be a little dark. Ie. almost invisible when you use the gamma button to reduce the brightness at night.
Keep up the good work!
P.S. I'd be happy to be a beta tester.

I like the fact that you mentioned the PSD's. No skin will please everyone. But a very nicely done skin with PSD's means everyone can have it the way they want.
Bravo

I third the PSD'd idea. The skin looks great, it's just that Orang doesn;t suit my interior

The color swap is not really a one button change, but i guess i can make a , green , blue , red or some other color that matches.
I would also like to point out that this is night skin (day skin will also be made)
the beta is really close (i will post a download link when done) i will just test it on my brother (sorry i promised no animal testing but it must be done)
Here is new preview, its allready old becuse i made some more changes
But you can see how its progressing.

Could you not combine the accent layers (the layers with the orange areas) into one, thus allowing end user to change the hue etc to suit their interior with a few clicks and slides?

I could do that but it's not the big problem. If you look into screens folder you can see that its not one png file but many. So i have one psd file for every screen (thinking about combining them into one big. But even after the color change you have to cut it up and that takes time. And what takes even more time is special buttons. But i will try to inplement it as good as i can. But making some color changes takes me max 1 hour.
Patrick
PS: David one big png file or a least on off in the same png? And how about flash?
