Brushed Metal for CF

At first, skinning CF looked intimidating. But after spending some time, it's not so bad. What would be cool, I think, would be a util that let you load up the screens and mark the 'hot spots' and label areas, fonts and colors, etc, then export a ready-made skin.xml file. Maybe I'll grab a copy of VB from work and see what I can come up with.

In the meantime, with many thanks to Febsperanza who made his .psd files available on his website (and I hope OK to use this way), I'm sorta' porting his BrushedMetal skin to CF. Thus far I've only done the "music" sections, keeping David's basic layout, as I find it very functional. I'm looking for feedback before I move forward. Here are a few screenshots.

That's really sweet!!
Love it all ready!

I really like CF and think it's the ultimate FrondEnd, Lots of compliments for David!! Now the version 1.1 is even better

But I always thought the skin was a bit too much contrasting to my sober dash, and not very OEM.

This Awesome brushed metal skin makes it the most ultimate frond end ever!

Keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to install this on my carpc.

Feb's PSD files are available on his website at http://febsperanza.3plast.com.

I emailed him, and am still awaiting his reply, as to whether he approves using/distributing his work in a skin for CF.

Since Feb did most of the hard work, designing the graphics, I feel I should wait for his OK before re-distributing it. In addition to the 'music' stuff, I just finished the video and DVD screens. I don't have phone, radio or GPS yet, so building those screens might have to wait awhile (as I have no way to test them). If Feb responds with his approval to use his graphics, I'll have some screens posted Tues. night.

Chad,
You're doing me proud man!! Go ahead I don't mind you distributing them. That's what the psd files are for.

So I guess I'll leave this project to you, eh?
