CF Skin Editor RC1
Hi All
New version of my Skin Editor, I mainly updated the fileloader to handle the new skin format.

Is this the SAME as piyaca's skin editor? They look identical to me.

This is the updated version of my skin editor (CF Skin Editor 1.6).
http://forums.fluxmedia.net/viewtopic.php?t=373
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=73625
Do not know why piyaca wrote one himself, and I do not know why he implemented everything similar to me. Had hoped David had send me a copy of the new skin layout before he released RC1, so that I could have updated my skin editor to be ready at the same time, but unfortunately he forgot.
Instead it now seems like the work I put in the 1.6 version is wasted with the release of his copy, and all credit is gone down the drain...

not to me... I give you full credit &
I've also used your rc1 editor & it is close to perfect.....
sure, when piyaca released his version to support rc1 it was good news, mainly because the 1.6 one no longer worked with rc1, but yours is the original... the first.... & the one I use...

works great... I'm sorry for not getting that skin.xml over to you before I released...
I was literally modifying it up till the night before we released...

Djerik:
This is great work, thanks a ton.
I however have one suggestion, and unless I see this implemented, the skin editor is not as useful as could be:
Could you display ALL THE BOUNDING BOXES for a given screen, when editing a screen? That way when I pick one and try to align it, I can see all the other boxes as a referece. Also helps because would be easier to detect overlaps between one button's area and the neighboring one.
Thanks!

yeah, that would be nice, like rr's skin editor...
I really like the way you have the color selector for the fonts, saves some time.., but it doesn't work for the highlight color in the media.. no biggie
overall though, this turns a 8 hour job into like 30 minutes..... good stuff

I'm sorry, I didnt realize a new version was out. I will try to update the skineditor during the weekend. I will also consider cleaning up the source, and release it, thereby others can continue my work.

yeah, all of these quick updates make skinning & skin editor hard to keep up with... when the final release is here & all the smoke clears, THEN it'll be much easier to really get some skins going..... can't wait

I really wanted to make a skin for this app, but I guess I will wait until either I have enough time to work with Photoshop and change all the PNGs and adjust all the XML or CF is finally "finished" (we all know software is never finished ) and hopefully David will package a skin editor with it (PLEASE!!!)
