I would just like to say that the AutoPC is a really sweet system. I had one in my Cavalier for two and a half years. The only bad part about the system is there is no DVD capabilities and upgrades for the system are next to impossible to find due to the fact that it was released to the market back in 1999. Other than that, the AutoPC is awesome.

I know the system

I had the same exact system as my previos setup in my last car that I sold off. Now i have two new cars. One is getting my Carputer system and the other I have had no plans for yet. I know this system would do just fine. Plus, I have CE.Net development software that I can develop new functions to it (WiFi, external Display, MP3 software..)

Clarion Autopc

The autoPC was a project thought up a few years ago by the Clarion Team. They constructed a Windows CE handhald as the head unit and then created components for it. The product was years before its time and was very over priced at the time. The market didnt take as well as the assumed so the didnt make that many addons for that particular unit. They did come out with a next generation which is now know as the Clarion Joyride. This system is a spawn from its father the AutoPC. The downfalls to the Autopc is its software and hardware support. Not many software and hardware manufactures invested much time into developing addons and software. It also runs and older version of windows CE which didnt support much in the way of hardware. I have been able to get my grubby little hands on Windows CE.Net which is the latest version of windows CE. So I am going to try to develop this OS on that system. If all goes well the I will have an abundancy of support for other type of hardware. The question that stands is .. How long? If you are looking for more info.. Please contact me. I have lots of Newsgroups and websites with pertinant info.

What kind of stuff do you seek in trade?

Would you be open to trades of PC hardware or a PC ?

I'm really looking for either cash or car audio trades. But I am looking for a wirelessss Keyboard, an FM modulator, a new video card with TV out or a VGA to Composite adaptor, and something comparable to a 4 foot IDE cable.
