i think they sell it for about $50-60, but, they also have a minimum order of $100. so you will have to find other stuff to order from them, unless someone else here wants one.
sorry, but i took the one that was sold here.

It was $50.00 for each kit from www.JacoElectronics.com .
You have to place a minimum order of $100.00.

Thanks Leslie.
Hi Paulzy,
that's the problem. The brightness control on allens controller works fine with the LQ10D367 but does not work for the LQ9D161.
So I was kind of bummer about that. Any Ideas?
Steve

i guess you could just put your own pot, inbetween inverter and lcd, for brightness. could probably find the one for contrast also.
but its really the vertical and horizontal hold that you need, or do you get a stable image, filling the whole of lcd no worries?

Hi Paulzy,
you got it. picture looks fine and fills the frame. Allen's controller takes care of that. I just don't have brightness control.
My concern with adding a pot somewhere in the circuit is that it won't make it brighter so it appears there's something wrong with the interface between the controller and inverter. Although it looks good now I'm wondering if it will look good in a car. i.e. maybe it will need to be brighter. I'm not sure where to tap into for that.
I'll keep experimenting this weekend if I get a chance.
Thanks,
pigseye

well its just that the screen is 70nits (if its the same as mine anyway) so even at full brightness it wont be that bright.
so dont think ill bother with a pot unless i can get a brighter backlight, still waiting for it so cant really comment, but im also wondering if im going to bealbe to read my 40x4 character display in the car.

pigseye: was looking for an inverter for my lcd and one i found that would work said it didnt support dimming (or brightness control, same thing)
so thats probably why the brightness adjustment doesnt work on allens controller, migth not be same inverter, but probably the reason why you cant adjust brightness, and i wouldnt atempt to add a pot to it.
