NiteMaxx digital night vision camera

I talked a bit with the seller and this seems like a good idea for all looking for cheap, yet quality forward or back up low light/no light cameras. See below Its a NEW CCD camera for the price of a CMOS

This is the ebay site
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5849384445

This is the new deal

well, my deal is gone, and this is not a group buy, just an FYI
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...4&postcount=64

there is an active thread on MP3 car about them here
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/general-hardware-discussion/68370-night-vision-car.html

but for those of you who want the last few that he has left, here it is his ebay site. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5849384445

KEY FEATURES:

- Enhanced technology used in high-end video surveillance systems in a portable package.
- Can be used in ANY lighting condition without risk of damage to the system.
- Powerful fifteen element LED array aligned to the image sensor for maximum illumination in no-light conditions.
- Easily record night-time activity using a camcorder or VCR by using the standard RCA video output.
- Integrated power-port for use with common AC adapters. (Not included, but ask him!)
- Real-time video image is displayed on the built-on 2.5 inch Color TFT LCD screen with CCFL backlight.
- Uses common camcorder-style Lithium-Ion rechargable battery for portable use. (NOT included, but ask him)
- Battery charger is NOT included
- Easy to use controls to operate LCD contrast, IR illumination and gain boost.
- Dimensions are approximately 4" x 4" x 3.25"
- Color: Grey

He has a good bit left. They are $20 for the new body. lens and what not are extra, but really cheap. The seller is nice and extraordinarily helpful. The seller is on ebay, he does not belong to the forums.

These aren't CMOS, these are 1/3 Sony CCDs! they are small, about the size of a digicam. They come with a 2.5" LCD. They come with NSTC outputs that will go well with your lilliput or wintv PVR or whatever has componenet video in. Essentially, when mounted inside the vehice, they're perfect.

Accessories he has to include with shipment at an addition cost

-Lenses
-Rechargable battery pack with charger
-car adapter pack

He has no more rechargable batteries, but depending on what the community needs, and what feedback he gets from us, he's willing to get us some more and what lenses we think are best (he'll custom order a set for the community). He still has the car adapters, which is what we'll mostly be using. These cameras are NEW, they work in ANY lighting condition, and the seller is a Godsend. buy one, buy many, but you'll regret not buying any.

How much are the lenses? Looks promising.. but I'm worried the lenses will cost more then the camera, heh.

he's now on this forum. He's a bit swamped with the orders. I've talked to him. I'll be posting a review soon, including a deconstruction for multiple uses and a comparision between the models (there are some higher end models than this base that he has one ebay).

The lenses are on average $10 with the camera

Hmm, I can see myself mounting that LCD in the driverside visor, and running the video out to my LCD, so I can choose which to look at... would be pretty slick.

acutally...i'm doing mine to the gauge cluster. I'm also removing the button board and plaacing it somewhere accessable. He's a forum member now, as i said and is very knoweledgeble with this device. He knows what you can and can't do with this and is more than willing to share his knowlegde. He also has spare housing parts, IR illuminators, and, get this detached 2.5" LCDs! I'm increasing my order before he ships out!

What are the higher end models? I didn't see anything in his store? I would have liked to see them before I ordered - oh well, these will be fun to mess with and I can always order again -hehe

hehe, he doesn't have too many of them, i'm going to review both models, so don't worry. For our application, this model is beyond fine. He will later introduce these to us.

Got mine today. Powered them up with a camcorder battery and they seem to work. Still need a lens to get an image though. Anyone have a line on lenses?
