Classifieds Section Closed
Please see this new thread: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=99176
__________________________________________________ _______________________________
UPDATE!
I have disabled the current system because I am going to be upgrading to the new system. This should take care of many of the issues that are being noticed.
I'll make a new post when the new system is up and running.
I'm sorry for the inconvience, but I think this should really be worth it.
Jan Bennett

In an effort to try and help our the members of this forum we have implemented a new classifieds system for the forum.
Up in the nav bar, next to the FAQs, you will find a "Classifieds" link. You can also get there through this link: REMOVED
Please use this new system when posting items for sale or items that you are looking to buy. There is also a free items category within this section as well, to take care of the free parts thread that's stickied in here.
As a way to help facilitate the transition, all new threads will be moderated. This means that your new threads will not be posted. Current sales that are in progress will continue on until finished.
This new system will allow for user feedback on buyers and sellers as well as keep items separated.
I understand that there might be a few growing pains with trying to get used to a new system, but I truely believe that in the long run, the benefits will be well worth it.
If you have any questions, please PM me and I'll be happy to answer them, or you can ask them here in this thread.

I like the new setup. Granted it will be a pain to create multiple ads for different stuff one might have to sell, but it may actually help sell them faster.

I thought this was locked. Anyways, I congratulate the mp3car people on finally getting a better classified section setup. It has been long over do.

Not only that, but you get due credit where deserved for each sale.

The thread or the classifieds system?
The thread was locked while I was amending the post initially.

I've been trying to be proactive on getting the forum updated and adding new features than has been done in the past. The other guys were previously too busy to take much time to research, install, test, and trouble shoot these modifications.

Also when I wrote the post I put a bunch of line breaks like you do with normal posts here, and the ad reflects none of them. I am not sure if we must add "\r\n" manually, or maybe add "<br>" or whatever is required, but the line spacing does not work for me.
Also I went to the Miscellaneous section by using the links on the left, once there, I didn't see a button for "New Ad". I only saw the new ad button on the classified's home page.
Other than that it looks really good.
EDIT: Ok, it requires "<br>" breaks for newlines.
I'll pass it all along to the developer of the modification.

I just moved my thread to the other one!
I figured the other one is more debugging and this was more announcement. Oh well... Sorry.

I can't say I'm a fan of this type of classifieds. There's a couple forums Ive seen that have switched to that format, and it's just annoying
It'd be one thing if it were an extremely active forum (like the hardforums)....but it's not. There's not much of a need to have to click through 10 different 'subforums' to see all the ads
edit: I guess it wouldn't be so bad if there were an option to view all categories at once. And is there no way to post comments/questions in the ads?

does the site have enough moderators to handle having to view every post prior to posting? Let me know if u need any assistance in this matter. I'm here at least 50 hours a week (sad but true!)
