ahve you looked into the Dennis K screens? They're 8.5in VGA touchscreens pretty much complete. The screen is only 12bit but otherwise they're fine.
search for seller a2z@dwk.org

I had bought a LCD with touch controller last year but my Allan controller was defective so I bought the set consisting of LCD controller and LCD (may as well get an extra just in case) with the inverter and cables for $260 shipped. It did not include the touch controller or touch cables. This would be a complete set without touch functions. No problems either time I bought from him. Definitely recommend him.

Well get this guys, he is selling me the lcd, inverter, inverter cable, hirose cable, and touch controller for $100. Just wait on emailing him, I want to see if I can get him down a little more for a compromise in giving him some more business.

UNLESS YOU HAVE A SINGLE BOARD COMPUTER... GET A VGA-LCD CONTROLLER.
it is going to kill you trying to find one of these things, so unless you have a SBC that is already set up for a lcd panel, i HIGHLY recommend that you get the controller card. yes it will cost more, but it will save many headaches!!!
just a few words of advice.

are you talking to me or BGreet????
anyway. i have 2...
one from the DennisK kits... it is about $300+ by itself, so if you can get it in the package... DO IT. also, it is highly compatable with a lot of screens, so if 18-bit small screens drop in price, it is a good thing to have this card....
one is the allenruble card that was a hot item a bit back.

As a SBC owner, I'd be keenly interested to hear more about this.

If you guys are interested... I'm back to selling my Sharp 8.4" LCD because my buyer seems to have "disappeared".
It's an 8.4" LCD with the PCI controller and inverter all assembled and working.
I'm asking $175USD shipped.
More info + pictures are available here: http://www.mp3car.com/usersites/schr...pics/info.html
Cheers
