How about a '92 Formula?
I'd love a skin like this, when I start the PC for the 'Bird.

I hate to shoot this down, but am I the only one who finds the voice box to be an enormous waste of screen space?

Yes!

Its a classic 80's show. You can't design a kitt skin without the voicebox. Maybe make it smaller. Or dont put it in the main screen but the visualizer should show the voicebox when music is playing.

yes,but thats what I love about it - keeps things simple on the mainscreen, less to distract me while driving. To be fair, how long would the mainscreen actually be showing in Media Engine? Only as long as it takes to decide if you want to select DVD, MP3 or radio.
But the voicebox as vizualiser during playback would be cool if anyone with experience of writing winamp plugins can meet the challenge?????

I know KITT , thats why I hate to shoot it down. Maybe you can make it go behind stuff when there is alot to show on the screen? IMHO, If I used a TS I would want every inch^2 of it to be functional.

Another idea about the voicebox is to hide it behind a car logo (like the clock/car logos we see here) and when you hit it turns into the voicebox. Make it the same size as the logos and you'll be fine. I also like the visual idea; press it and you'll get a KITT screen look alike. Touch the screen and your main menu comes back.

Is someone willing to do a graphic design of this skin and show us? My car is called KITT This would be perfect. Integration of the iRunner and Bongo skin will be cool with voicebox in the middle.

Can someone please explain to me more about this thread? I have a Toyota Prius and was dying to find a way to have my touch screen look like good ole KITT. Hoping to eventually get his voice to replace the standard female voice I have now.

Thanks!

This thread is about some dude trying to make a knight rider skin for his car. The big question is how to use the voice-box space efficently at times.
