Winamp plugin ? or maybe other idea to solve it

Hi ,

I have a problem which the solution i came up with , is pretty hard to implement [at least for me, as i have no knowledge in it].
It goes like this:

I'm building a KIOSK mounted computer with touch.. now unfortunely that wall lacks a tunnel to the main audio receiver. Meaning i cant connect it to the room's speakers! thus making it useless except for head phones..

Theres a Multimedia computer connected to the Receiver [which is connected to the room's speakers] and is also connected to the network, like the kiosk.

I'm going to put Media Engine on the kiosk as a FE, it uses Winamp as the sound player [also for movies/video clips i think] now the idea i came up with is that a plugin for it will be written that all it does is Send VIA LAN commands to other computer on the NETWORK that will do the playing for it.
It should work even if you foreward/rewind,pause,mute etc...

If you have a different idea or so please let me know as im clueless...

some notes to be said:
a) The KIOSK plays all the songs/vids/etc.. off a Server in the network
b) The Multimedia computer ISNT the KIOSK's screen or has any connection with.
c) A drawing of the room and its important periphrals is attached for your convinience..

I know its complicated but theres no way to pass a coax\even 9 mm cable to the kiosk from the other points! thats why the solution has to be creative

Thanks alot!

Depending on the speed of the kiosk computer you could set it up to just stream it's audio to the multimedia pc. If you're running windows you could even go ahead and try the Windows Media Encoder, then just setup the multimedia pc to connect to the kiosk's audio stream with any regular media player.

Not real elegant but depending on the application gets the sound into that room.

Ok... theres progress!

Thanks gobby i dont know why but eventhough i did that for 2 hours i think...

i've go to a site which i've been in before but this time i saw that i might just do what i want!
http://www.browseamp.com/

enables playing of winamp from the web.
now that doesnt help me because it plays it thrugh webbrowser rather than winamp...
BUT
i just saw theres a source code for people who'd like to make a plugin for winamp which'll do just that [if i understood.. still viewing the source :q]

and nkotch thanks but streaming sucks , i want to use the capabilities hardware there

welp i've found the perfecut plugin but still got a problem!

the plugin [there's only one that does this thing to my amazement] is
WWW.NetSync by lars werner [stopped developing it]

the problem is this plugin works only with a premade playlist that is loaded to winamp rather than dynamic one that Media engine [my front end] uses...

so i mailed him but still ... clue less DAMN!

What if you put winamp on the media computer, and put all of your media on that computer too. Then, installed the front end on your kiosk and just set the directories for winamp and media to network paths of your files? Essentially allowing you to control the media computer through the front end on the kiosk? Is that crazy?

well, it wont help me.. because without the plugin, the winamp on the multimedia computer cant be remotely controlled.
That means i wont hear sound.
now if i understood you right... you say this: [just to make sure i did]
on the multimedia computer install the F.E [which installs winamp too] , then map that drive with the kiosk, and run the F.E off the network drive.

I'd say it'll prolly work, BUT i dont want the F.E to be ran off the multimedia drive... because the multimedia drive i used for different things... and i dont need a F.E to run on it and cause me troubles, winamp on minimize is a different thing...

Thanks though!
