Well, this is my first post in this forum, so let me introduce myself. I'm a computer engineering student, and I am a fan of tuning. I have a Lancia Y, and have been working on a car audio project for one year now. Around a month ago, I came to know the OBD-II interface, and am as of now writing anew software suite for car audio with (among other interesting extras) a skinnable digital dashboard.
So I come here to share it with you, since this forum has been helping me a lot for the past week!
The software will be made avaliable for free once it's finished, so hold your horses

The name of the software was censored to avoid people looking after it. I don't want anyone asking "when will it be finished?" and "can I have it now?" questions before it's actually ready.
The control of the software will be through touchscreen or (if you have a car TV screen) a side controller to which I will provide explanation later. My priority is touchscreen. Program runs at a resolution of 800*600.
I might select a few beta testers from whoever may be interested, but not for now. Only when the program is almost finished
This is where I expect your help. One of the missing parts so far is the comunication protocol with the ELM chip. I have one of those chinese ELM327 v1.2 chips ordered, and should arrive soon I hope. Meanwhile I have nothing to build the protocol upon. If any of you can get me logs of Hyperterminal comms with an ELM327, that would advance the work much further! Also, a description of how it works would be nice and save me some research time!
Thanks for all your help, fellow tuners!
