Dxl Gauges

Hey you guyz,

i have been doing a little thinking..

due to the upcomming release of the full version of dashcommand, shouldn't we begin creating some gauges ?? the people at palmer gave us a way to modd and custum the dashboard layout and its a shame if we are not using it..

there are some beautiful dashboard's designs out there that we could all create and gather here together in favor of the whole obd-community.

another thing, the dash designs that we have seen so far are cool but not very helpful for real everyday use - RPM gauge and WATER TEMP gauge are cool but i allready have them infront of my face anyways.. it would be nice to have a "track-day" dash with all the important data for a sport car racer such as: 1. boost (most important - should be bigger !!), 2. egt, 3. oil temprature, 4. oil pressure, 5. air intake temp, 6. timing advance, 7. wideband

now that would be some dash !! if it will be easy to read (day and night) i will use it all the time..

so, what do you say ?? anyone willing to start creating/modding some dash's for the benefit of us all ??

by the way, i heard palmer are having some kind of competition between designers.. prizes..

i hope we will be looking at some new creations in this theard soon

...

the most important gauge is by far not boost, i would be putting, afr(wideband), egt, oil pressure, intake temp and revs all before boost

that aside, having a dedicated race day dash sounds like a good idea to me

you are probably right but after i had searched for pid's in my car i saw that PCMSCAN/DASHCOMMAND can't monitor my car's boost, it can only try and calculate it via the MAF readings.

also, there's no OIL TEMP or OIL PRESSURE.

i do have wideband (but i don't know the meaning of the numbers - vw's are diffrent, my pid's reads from 0.8 to 2.0 volts which is not regular..

i also have TIMING ADVANCE, CALCULATED LOAD, INTAKE TEMP, WATERTEMP

for the record, PCMSCAN can see some boost pid's but it can't read them and only reports that they are supported

will someone do a dedicated race dash ever ??
