Speed-based volume control?

So how about some speed-based volume control? I drove a rental Cobalt the other day and the feature really grew on me.

That was something I always wanted for my Empeg. Should be much easier with Streetdeck.

To extend this idea further: do speed based equaliser morphing. Define one equaliser setting for low speed, and one for high speed, and morph the settings for intermediate speeds.

SpeedVolume

I made a digitalmod that does this, but there are a few bugs in the API that I need to work around to release the digitalmod. They have been explained in other threads and have not gotten attention yet. I should be able to bypass everything that does not work and release the digitalmod anyhow. I was just waiting to see if the problems are fixed so I didn't have to spend the time doing this. Here is a screenshot of the plugin.

The functionality of the mod works great right now. It's kinda neat when you set extreme volume moves to use it to warn you of going too fast. It also should solve the problem of volume being set too high when you power up since it ramps the volume. I have a many more ideas for it, such as setting GPS positions to activate volume control. I want it to turn down the volume when I get home or to work. It could also be used on other volume controls and maybe for the equalizer settings to be based on speed. The only problem is when SD shuts down the settings get lost and this causes problems at startup. It shouldn't take long to work around the problem. I just need to find time to do it.

How about this one: have navigation find out what city you are nearing, and then queue songs with that city name in the title.

that would be a totally new and different digitalmod there... and one that I would consider a gimmick

Cool, good work! This is something that I have wanted for SD for a while, and since many other front ends have it, I just can't understand why SD didn't do it out of the box.

Yeah, you're right. I am way off line. Forget I mentioned it.

Pim

Still... it'd be cool.

That would be amazing, every time I pull up to home or work I have to lower my volume as well so this would be perfect. Hopefully you can get it done, once its done I am in for sure. I know I am not alone when I say we appreciate your work on this mod.

Instead of songs with the city name, how about changes radio stations to presets for that city...

For instance, I travel from Hangerstown, to Baltimore or DC, and to Ocean City MD, as well as to Richmond, VA regularly, and am always changing the radio stations (no XM/Sirus) (I like the radio, even though I have more MP3s then anyone person should ) would be nice to auto switch from one station to another based on GPS!
