Thanks

I believe SD is now designed to automatically register the dlls while installing the mod. so I'll try to install the mod first. if you get dll errors when running the digimod, then register the dlls.

the Original programmer needs to update his GasPriceDLL.dll .. since his code is locked in there to find the prices

the GasPriceDLL access the following website to retrieve the gas price information.

http://www.automotive.com/gas-prices/. The dll basically parses the information from this website. There is no way of retrieving this information anyway else. not according to my knowledge anyways.

Now for those in canada. is there a website you can use to view gas price information. or is there one that provides a service to get this data say via xml. if so, my code can be convert to read information from that site.

can you try using gasbuddytogo.com ? you can search via zipcode/postal code on it but it only returns the prices.. it doesnt say which grade of fuel...

maybe you can just add a check.. if it doesnt find anything from the original site.. then it should check gasbuddytogo.com ... that way you have the best information available in your area

we are looking for a site where we can give it just the zip/postal code and it returns a listing of local gas prices...

Is it possible to just input "CityName" and then it would go to "CityName"GasPrices.com and retrieve the local prices for you, like entering a city name for local weather. I realize there are cities with the same name but the weather sites seem to sort this out.

at the moment, I really made it simple. but inputting a city name is definitely doable. I do have a few request for this project such as finding gas prices for canada and europe. Only thing I dont have at the moment is time to delve into them. hopefully once i get time, i come up with phase 2 of this project

Is anyone else noticing that the Gas prices seem to be about $1 off?

http://www.automotive.com/gas-prices...ing/index.html everything is like $3.20, but in my SD, I see them as more like $2.20. I am at work and don't have a screen shot, but I absolutely remember them as around the $2 area. I've not seen gas that cheap in years.

BUG Well, here is some proof that the prices are WRONG...

Granted, the last updated is a couple weeks ago, but gas hasn't fluctuated THAT radically since then.

http://www.automotive.com/gas-prices...ond/index.html
or if you prefer the zipcode version (both are the same that I can tell)

update: 03/06/08 12:41pm
Just FYI, I re-re-re-verified this today by purposely refreshing the screen (I was under the impression it did that automatically if there was an internet connection and when you then load the plugin -- turns out, not so much. you have to manually push the button). Anyways, the prices were all basically the same as that screenshot, so I didn't bother with another one.

I find it peculiar that *I* am the only one to notice this?

one more thing, the "miles" text under the price is virutally impossible to see. In fact, I didn't even notice it until I took the screen shot and saw it blown up in photoshop! could you please make the color something that stands out more. I appreciate the "subtlety" of it, but in a 800x600 7" screen, in sunlight, you just can't see it.
