CD ripping would be very very very very handy, i don't know about dvd ripping. It takes so long to rip a dvd and would have to have the car disabled for a few hours. But CD ripping.... that makes cents. When you go over to your friends house askt to borrow their CD for a few minutes, run out to the car and and 15 min later it's ripped tagged and on your Hard Disk. You can download (somwhere) a local copy of the CDDB.

dvd ripping could work if you are on a trip or something.... or even if you somehow power the car externally... anywys, on a powerful computer how long does this take? 1 hour? 2? I think it is pretty useful... especially for music videos and stuff so you can rip particular tracks or the whole thing!
