Problems with the OBD-II ElmScan tool?

Anyone else installed one of these in their car? I have the Infill G4 and the Elmscan tool, have installed all drivers properly, have no conflicts on the device manager, yet the program (and streetdeck) both cannot "see" the OBD-II dongle.... it is plugged in through USB (as instructed), yet the software is looking for a com port.

how did anyone else get this to work?

thanks!

After plugging the usb device, check in the device manager under communication ports to see if a new device has been added and its associated com port. I know for a fact that the tool I use to log (and flash) my vehicle (Ford) essentially has a serial to usb adapter in it and I can see it when windows loads up the drivers.
