OBD-I software for Linux

I have a '95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with GM's 3100 V6 (3.1L), and I really would like to use my OBD port for diagnostics and on screen gauges. However, I have yet to find a program for linux that will do this. If anyone knows of a program, knows how to make said program, or wants to help me in any way (I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to have to make it myself), please please please let me know!

Thanks for any help!

P.S: if you've written a program for this in windows please let me know, I can probably use a lot of the same code.

P.P.S: I know the general idea is that the ECU has certain instructions (which I've been told i can find on google) that I must send, and I know how to process any data I recieve, but as far as the actual communication goes, I have no idea what I'm doing (help appreciated).
