You nned a OBD11 interface, such as the ELM as well as cables. If you take a look at
http://www.palmerperformance.com/sto...products_id=32 you would see exactly what you require. If you downloaded the SCANTOOL software, you would be best to get their "package" which incorporates the license as well as the cables and interface dongle.

To add to that..any chance you could post that Nissan skin so I can download your software and try it out?

EDIT..didn't look properly..I see your download link now!

Sorry about that. The answer is yes - our hardware interface (ELM327 based) does support the CAN protocol. It will work on any OBD-II/EOBD compliant vehicle.

P.S. by hyperterminal I ger values of real rpm so I get 800-900

What kind of vehicle do you have? Are you sure it's fully OBD-II/EOBD compliant? Based on your posts, it sounds like it isn't fully compliant.

However, our PCMSCAN software has a powerful feature that will be able to fix this. Just create a custom Javascript parameter (go to the Tools menu -> Script Editor) that takes the value of SAE.RPM and multiplies it by 4. Then you should be seeing the proper RPM. Of course, you'll have to edit the dashboard layouts to use your new script RPM parameter.

If you are asking about our PCMSCAN software, then see Dejan's post right after yours. He has listed all the hardware interfaces that PCMSCAN is compatible with.

For our DashCommand software, it currently only supports ELM interfaces.

I'm not too familiar with how to embed software into StreetDeck, but I would imagine that it should be possible to get both PCMSCAN and DashCommand embedded within it. However, DashCommand supports a few command line parameters that makes this process a little easier.

I have Fiat Stilo 1.9JTD (year 2004) and I don't know if is fully EOBD compatible, I will try do something with script editor when I will have some time...

Unless you add pressure sensors and extra temp sensors you've got no chance.
The Nissan systems don't measure boost at all! They measure airflow and air temp.
Hence why its called a Mass Air Flow system.

EGT also needs extra electronics and AFAIK isn't going to happen with Nissan Consult hardware... It would be easier fitting a new ECU like a GEMS setup to do what you want

There's also ECUTalk for gauges

If I get the probes from known guage makers is there any way to connect to the PC?

Its not been done yet to AFAIK.
Not unless you're good at programming and have a knowledge of electronics.

I suppose it could be done using one of those USB relay board thingies

The base Skin is called Simplistique, however, it has since it was developed some considerable time again, been heavily moddified and built on by me.

For those who know how to skin edit, you will need the following.

Create a skin page with a predefined "Application" area.

Here is an example of such, call it obd.skin

MEDIACAR Skin
MEDIACAR MM Skin
obd_OFF.jpg,obd_OFF.jpg,obd_ON.jpg,obd_DOWN.jpg
/, B, x, y, w, h, Command;COMMANDCODES, Tooltip
B21,1,523,110,79,"CLOSE","Exit"
/, L, x, y, w, h, color R;RGB, G, B, font size;FONT, font name, Code;LABELCODES, Tooltip;LABELALIGNMENT
L01,283,31,74,35,255,102,0,18,"Digital Readout Thick Upright:B","REMAININGTRACKTIME",""
L02,6,31,268,35,255,102,0,18,"Digital Readout Thick Upright:B","/ ||TAGARTIST||= - ||TAGTITLE||=","SCROLL-LEFT"
/, A, x, y, w, h, color R;RGB, G, B
A01,0,81,800,440,000,000,000
/, I, x, y, w, h, Code;INDICATORCODES
/, Y, Back Slider file path
Y01,"\volume_slider\volume_*.jpg"
/, S, x, y, w, h, x1, y1, w1, h1, O, Style, Pointer file path, h2, Code;SLIDERCODES, Tooltip

END

This will give you a basic skin with a close button and also track names etc.

Then, add a button to your main 'menu.skin' and have the 'command' field labelled as:

"LOAD;obd.skin;DashCommand;C:\Program Files\DashCommand\dashcommand.exe;!wxWindowClassNR "

Obvioulsy, the 'C:\Program Files\DashCommand\dashcommand.exe' needs to be where the where YOUR DashCommand exe is stored.

I haven't tried it in the car yet, but see no reason why it won't work.

How long did it take for you to create the guts of that? As in, not the graphical skin itself, but the stuff controlling how those gauges act in response to OBD-ii inputs? I already have a $600 Ford usb/obd-ii scanner/programmer, but am on the fence for a compact read-only unit with this dash command software, but I don't have much time to invest into learning/coding/skinning..
