Digital Gauge Software

Just wondering if anyone knows if Centrafuse are planning on expanding their OBD-II to display a set of digital gauges dipicting measurements like, speed, revs, boost pressure and oil temp within the Centrafuse software. At the moment the only software which displays this type of information is engine tuning software, but not really for the purpose of providing easy to read gauges while driving.

Most vehicle ECUs collect this information and we can access it through the OBD-II inetrface, but there is yet to be a software that displays this information in real-time onto an easy to read digital guage you can read while driving. vDash almost has it right however, their gauges can only update in real-time only updating in one second intervals which is not accurate enough. vDash ---> http://www.chetcodigital.com/vGauge/vDash.htm

Something similar to the digital gauge layout on the new Skyline GTR would be a huge selling point if you could incorporate this into Centrafuse. This would allow anyone with a carputer and OBD-II scan device to output a digital guage cluster on their carputer. Perhaps a Centrafuse OBD-II XLE release of the software, spesifically targeting those who require engine management stats, graphs and statistics would do the trick.

Has anyone come across some software which can offer all this?

That's interesting that vDash only updates 1 time a second. OBDII updates (I believe) over 32 times a second. Although, from what I've heard it is 64 times a second in newer vehicles.

That's right! Replicating the look of that dashboard is possible using our DashXL™ dashboard system.

If anyone would like to give this a try, and needs any help, just send me your question(s).

I have PC Scan, and unfortunately the dash does not appear as good as that. Mind you, I suppose if I play around with it I may be able to get something like it. Mine looks like it was drawn in DOS, whereas the above appears as though it is High Definition. Are there skins available like the above? Or do you have to design to suit?
The biggest problem I have at the moment is getting PID's to work. I have a Ford Territory.

I'm interested. How customizable is DashXL? Can you make the dashes full screen without all the window parts I see in the screen shots? (title bar, buttons, menu bar, etc....)

Also, I would be interested in non-standarded gauges - as in, the kind shown in that Skyline GTR. They're not needles, they're just red things that change shape in a certain way depending on the value of the gauge. Can Dash XL do that?

Also, by what mechanism is it customizable? Is it proprietary stuff? Or do we use Flash/multiple pics/etc.?

Thanks!
