USB OBD-II Reader

So I've been playing with some carputer software recently, and I'm toying with the idea of installing something full time. In the meantime however, I'm just using my laptop to mess with the software and hardware, and see how worth it it could be.

With that being said, I'm looking for a USB OBD-II Cable. Something that would work with

software. My initial thought was something like This But after further reading I don't think that would work, infact I'm not really sure what use that cable would be.

Anyway, I guess what I need is something like This to give back the information I want. Is it a reasonable Idea to buy something like that on ebay or is there another place I should be looking... I'm trying to stay cheap with this, so any help in that regard would be great.

O yah, I drive a 2005 Toyota Tacoma...

Thanks

Kai

Alternatively...is there other software out there similar to DashCommand. I'm mainly looking to see/monitor some basic things.

Our interfaces work with PCMScan and most other ELM327 based software, the first link that you listed will definitely not work, the second should work if it works as advertised maybe someone else who has experience with the unit will chime in

Thanks
Paul
