Carsoft questions and problems.

Hi!

I'm trying to help a mechanic friend of mine set up a "not so expensive" diagnostic system.

So far I have the elm327.

I received the carsoft:

interface 6.5 for bmw

and

interface 7.4 for mercedes.

On the way are the multiplexers for vag-com 409.1 and vag-can.

My laptop doesn't have a serial port so I ordered an usb to rs232 converter cable.

I'm trying to get the carsoft interfaces to work but they're not recognized by th softwares (carsoft 6.5 and 7.4).

Can anyone help me troubleshoot the porblem?

Thanks!

Deni

For Carsoft 6.5
Install drivers for usb-serial adapter cable. In Device Manager set COM port for this adapter to COM1 -you can choose also COM2,COM3 or COM4 ,but Carsoft software installs default to COM 1. If you have installed Carsoft already, make sure the port in Seetings is the same with the one you have choosen for you adapter cable.
It should work this way.
