elm 327 won't talk to PCM..........or maybe it's the other way around.......
I picked up an elm 327 based reader last year and just got around to trying it today. It's usb and uses the ftdi chip (I had it open already). The PIC is a PIC18 as you would expect. It only has one LED and that flashes as you plug it in and then goes blank.
I'm using Proscan 5.1.
I can communicate with the elm as the log shows the proggy sending out the commands and getting the appropriate responses (ie elm 327 v1.2, etc) right up to the point where it transmits 01 01 and then there's no repsonse from (apparently) the vehicle obdII.
The car is a chrysler 2004 300M, and it uses VPW SAE J 1850.
Anyone have any ideas how to get the vehicle and elm to "talk nice"?
Any settings I could be missing?
