Can you guys please help me??? OBD Renault Clio help needed!

Hello all,

Right, I have spent the last two days trying to find out what type of OBD my 1999 Renault clio 8v spi uses. It is a UK car. It has a 16 pin connection under the ashtray. It has connectors in pins 1,2,10,12,13,16.

I really do not have a clue.

Thanks for reading,

Ben

Not EOBD, almost for sure. EOBD not required for Europe cars...

until 2001.

Do not know what preceeded EOBD2 in Europe/UK. Here in USA it was OBD1.

Sincerely,

The pins listed do not map to those used by OBD II...

so hard telling what the protocol is. Can't access my company's internal web site where a list of European vehicles that were tested are listed so can't look to see if a '99 Clio on it. Since OBD II not required until after IIRC 2001 (for gas, and even later for diesel) vehicles in Europe and I was only interested in testing/verifying OBD/EOBD II compatibility might not have probably didn't even bother testing any '99 Clio unless a contact in Europe had one handy as a personal vehicle. Most cars tested were newer models at dealerships or vehicles were rented or had access to at companies and their fleets of vehicles.

Short answer is I did not find out what protocol is used by '99 Clio.

Sorry.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
