Slimmer connectors for elm devices?

Hi. I have an elm 327. It came with a huge obd plug, straight-line orientation. Its a hge plug, and really doesn't lend itself to just plugging into the obdii port where it lives int eh dash (this is a mazda 3). Do most folsk reorient the existing factory socket? I can of course, just seems odd as then I'm more likely to have warranty issues and it will be hard to make it easily available. Can I get some kind of slim or angled connector for this thing somewhere?

Thanks!

There are right angle connector cables that are thinner and do not get in the way.

Something that looks like this http://www.obdpros.com/options_images_popup.php?oID=2

The new ones that we have allow you to reconfigure the wire exit so it can exit from the left or the right side of the connector to accomodate the orientation of the OBD II connection in your vehicle

Thanks
