Difference between ELM chips

Is there somewhere to read about how to choose the best ELM chip to interface with a certain car? I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type S, as far as I know it does not use the CAN protocol. Would an ELM 327 get me anything that a 323 wouldn't? thanks

If you go to the ELM website it explains the functions of each chip in detail,a lot of software/hardware examples etc, very informative.

ELM327 may get you slightly faster refresh rate.

I have been searching what ot get for a couple of weeks now, and there is still a bit of a confusion for me. What will this device let me do and what wont it let me do. I have several interests which are basically

1) I want to be able to diagnose the car and do maintenance on it.
2) I would like to be able to use it later to put a pc in the car and use it for music etc...
3) I would like to read the steering wheel position.
4) What do i need to do if i want to give force feedback to the steering wheel?
5) Can one tune the parameters of the engine with this?

Do you advise the use of the Bluetooth LM327 modules that are sold on ebay? Or are they more or less the same.

PS: We have (me + relatives) a toyota corolla 2007, mercedes E200 2000, 2005 audi a3, and hope on getting an E65 BMW.

Would these devices work on all of these?

Thank you in advance

Teo
