split63 is an unknown quantity at this point
OBD-II Connector for 24V?????

There is a version of the OBD-II male connector which has a split tab known as type B.
Here is a picture of the female mate:


Is this split a key for 24V vehicles?
If its not meant to prevent a 12V male OBDII connector from attaching to a 24V female, then what's it for?

You've guessed correctly, the split slot is designed to prevent the 12V male connector from being plugged into a 24V female socket.

P.S. I am surprised that the page you got the picture from, doesn't explain why the difference b/w Type A and Type B exists. I'll ask that the omission be corrected.
