OBD 1 Diagnostics software?

OK I decided to take a look at this OBD craze, however I need it for a Car that is hasnt got OBDII but OBD I. Its an OPEL/VAUXHALL. I mostly need it for Diagnostics not Gauges etc! IS there a scantool or cable that supports different OBD I vehicles, or is there 1 cable/scantool for every make seperately? Also I have seen garages that use cables with small pins and connect them to the OBD pins of the CAR by looking at the Pinouts of a book. I want this bad

Since I live in Europe, the threads discussed didnt help me much of terms of if there is support for European cars as well. I may have missed some info so....I am all ears!!!

depends on what ecu your car has.

from what I have heard most vauxhall/opel/holden etc. actually use a GM (AC Delco) computer/ecu.

I have a GM ecu and I have used Datamaster for a while now and found it to be a very good scan tool and datalogger. I've always used it with a laptop but now that I have time to do a carputer I'm looking forward to incorporating it into the design.

you can get Datamaster is at ttspowersystems.com.

find out what computer/ecu you have and go from there. do you have an ALDL port under your dash?
