'Bout ready to go postal!!!!! NEED HELP and info...please

i have the OBD-2 software and cable form this sight:
http://www.obd-2.com/

My problem:

i used to run this just fine on a laptop that had a seial connection built in. That laptop broke, got a newer onw that did not have a serial port on it, only USB's. I was told i needed to get this adapter:
http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/USA19HS/
in order for it to work.

i had this one that i was using for other auto programs that worked just fine for them:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...oduct_Id=91042
which is said to work up to a amx of 115 kbps.

the guy at OBD-2.com says i need the key span adapter becuase it supports a baud rate of 10.4kbps...

isn't 115 kbps the same as 11.5 kbps, which would be faster than 10.4 kbps, meaning the adapter i have should work?????????

am i all mixed up on baud rate and kbps definitions and what the numbers equal out to....????????
please help!!!!!??????????

thanx

11.5 i believe means 11 and a half= 11500 bits per second

115kbps= 115000 bits per second

10.4 kbps is a non-standard baud rate. This might be why they want you to use the keyspan adapter.

I have a belkin one that works great. But now I've updated my system to one that has a serial connection. Let me know if you want to buy it.
