Software for logging OBD and GPS ?

Hi

I am looking for software (windows) tools that allow logging of both OBD and GPS data, such as speed, mileage, and location. I would prefer some software development kit (API, prefer. a classic winapi32 DLL) Any ideas where to look. What OBD2 hardware/interface is recommended these days? (I have a VW Caravelle that this will be used in to start with..). Also, how is mileage calculated from OBD data?

The software that comes with this connector can log both obd and gps. It can also display calculated data like MPG, Hp, etc. There is an API available but I don't know how good/easy it is to use. The program is not pretty but it does the job. You can d/l and try it.

Thank you for the advice. I will look into the stuff on the www.obd-2.com site. Looks like this guy have done solid OBD work a long time. There appears to be an API as well there, which would be my preferred route, as I primary goal is to develope my own logging application. Just trying to avoid reinventing any wheels already taken care of, as well as the OBD2 stuff does not seem to be left-hand work done over one week-end.
