Question OBD on 2000 Mitsubishi NM Pajero/Montero

G'Day

Has anyone successfully talked to a 2000 Mitsubishi Pajero?

I've built an ELM 323 ISO adaptor, but can't get a response from the car.

From what I've seen, it should be ISO, but I'm having no luck.

I have double and triple checked my circuit, changed components, etc. I can talk to the ELM chip OK. The local auto trans guy has a SnapOn Tools scantool that talks to the car OK, but I'm trying to avoid spending $2000 for one of those He doesn't have any info that can help.

Regards,

Paul.

Yep, the ELM blinks out RS232 leds and only the CAR TX led. (and power led)

The connector has wires on both pins 4 and 5. I can't recall which one I've connected to, but I'm pretty sure they were both ground when I buzzed out the plug. Must sneak a look in the morning. Anything's worth trying.
