OBD connector location for Ford Escort??

Hi
Complete newbie so apologies if this has been answered before but...

I would like to locate the OBD connector in my Ford Escort. It's a UK model, 1993. Can someone tell me where I can find it, or indeed if it even exists!

I have read differing opinions on several different forums but I gather I am looking at working with a pre OBD-II interface. If anyone could tell me what the protocol for a 1993 UK Escort would be that'd also be great!

Thanks
Andy.

The pictures aren't too clear, but they might be of some help.

Escorts don't have OBD. (Unless you have a very rare post-1998 model that has an early version of EEC-V, in that case you can have SOME access to OBD.)

Focus do have OBD-II.

The Ford code reader plug is on the passenger side kicker panel.
This is NOT OBD, and it is Ford-only protocol.

I have a UK 93 Ford Escort too and would love having information from the ECU displayed on the screen.

I will try looking for the connector too.

I have heard it is a pre OBD-II interface as well. Hope we can find a way of extracting the information like you can with OBD-II.

Shame, yes, but can't really expect too much from an old car, can we

I've got a 1996 Escort, I am changing to a post-2000 car this year before I finish the carputer and put that in...

Thanks for the info guys.
Disappointed the escort doesn't have OBD.
I should've also checked this post before I spent a good half hour tonight upside down in the driver side footwell with a screwdriver and a torch
