I received mine.... installed in 5 min. up and running good!
Question: how much would it be for another OBD2 wire? the way I have mine installed does not make it easy to remove the wire and attach it to my other car if needed. So, im considering buying another wire to have handy in the tool box.
^_^ a few of my co-workers are interested in this piece of hardware. So I might have some more orders for you soon.

With Non us based vehicle it's a bit tricky to ascertain that they are OBDII compliant .
I would check the OBD II pinout against this
http://www.auterraweb.com/obdiipinout.html
and see if you have any of the combinations shown for standard OBD II protocol. I suspect that most likely your vehicle is ISO as Ookami mentioned, but if you check the pinout also you will have a pretty good indication that your vehicle is OBD II compliant.

The mitsu should absolutly be OBD II ready as the standard was implemented also by Mitsu in 2000
At lesst with my knowledge from the MoBilScan ( www.mobilscan.dk) tool it works with those type of cars just fine.
good luck

Wow. I have to say, after a little studying as to what OBDII can do, I'm entirely interested in this scantool for my 2004 Chevy Impala.
I'd like to hear some more feedback from the people that use this scantool. Anyone else out there want to add in your two cents?
Oh, and Ookami? I'm in Columbus. Let me know when another of those Halloween parties rolls around. ;-)

I have a 2003 Impala. This unit works fine. There are codes which you can control door locks and windows.

If you have the ability to build a smarter/faster interface, do it.
I'll echo that sentiment. I'm just a hobbyist, but I don't use any commercial software for the car, I write my own.
Paul, you could start by doing something simple, similar to what the ELM323 does with 'AT PD'. To me, the lack of packed data is one of the sore spots of the ELM327.

Thanks for the input, I will keep you posted, I am working on it but still not ready for prime time.

I'd be happy to test anything you come up with, I'm not far away (Dexter).

Paul, I'd be more than happy to test whatever you come up with. I may end up with a Mongoose in the end, but at the moment the painfully slow nature of the ELM327 on the car side (and the way 'AT ST' works) has me clamoring for something/anything better.
Looks like we're neighbors, I'm not far from Ann Arbor.
I'm new to the forum, forgive my intrusion. Background... about 20 years writing software (these days on freenix and some tiny amounts of OS X... no Windows since 3.1... time flies!). My current projects are the usual in-car PC for infotainment/OBD/datalogging (MINI Cooper S, M roadster) and a more elaborate system for a FactoryFive (PC + Ethernut). In-car PC is currently FreeBSD on EPIA.

not that I personally will be using it anytime soon but I didn't realize packed data wasn't possible with ELM327 and OBDPro as well. Are there any ELM or OBDPro compatible softwares out there that can use ATDP ?
Paul, an ATDP equivalent would be great to have! Also, any updates on bypassing the ascii<->binary conversion ?
Incorporting these two features in your already great tool will bring it up into a whole different level in terms of performance.

I don't think any standard software supports ATPD, anyways wouldn't ATPD be redundant once you eliminate ASCII translations?
The ASCII elimination is not there yet sorry , I will let you know once it's complete.

now that you mention it & I think thru it that makes sense.
Anyways ATDP would be applicable only to data going between the PC and OBD2 tool, and not between Car and OBD2 reader, right ? So it really wont increase the query rate, especially when the obd2 reader is capable of running 128kpbs serial port side. It will probably transfer all that un-packed data with time to spare!
