OBD II and Citroen Xsara
Hi,
Recently I bought citroen xsara 2.0 HDI and now I’m trying to make dumb OBD II cable. I found a few projects on internet on that topic so my question is: What is the best OBD software for Citroen (PSA) and dumb cables? What is the most used (or tested) OBD II interface circuit?
(I will try to use this : http://hem.passagen.se/tomasf/obd2/ ) will this do?
Best from Slovenia,
Pohorc

Hi,
When you say you are trying to make a dumb cable, what do you actually mean by this?
You need to check the protocol, the car is likely to be using ISO, although this will depend on the age.
The most well known and testing circuits are probably those based on the ELM Electronics chips.
Hope this helps,
Gareth

UKOBD,
With "dumb" cable I mean cable without ELM chip in the middle. Please check my link in first post.
Mvts I’m waiting for the connector. Hope I will get it soon. I will “share with you” if my “little project” was a success.

Hi,
There are plenty of straight cables available, however I'm not quite sure what you are looking to achieve with one?

If your Xsara is from 2000 or before there is a good chance it is not OBD compatible at all.
