ELM327 -> '06 civic Si ??yes...no?

befor getting a OBDII i decided to do a bit of reading then i found out that the 327 that is faster and has a better capacity might just work with my new car. i asked the seller on ebay if they had experiance with them and he said that one of the cars tested was the 06 civic.

now i'm usinf digimoto with the bit rate set and the port selected and all the info i get is the vin and thats it, my carputer isnt quite done but after i installed my exhaust im getting tired of the eng. light staying on and wanted to test the guages and other toys as well as clear the codes(o2 sensor error??i think )

my question is what do i have to do to get it to work, is there a specal way to do things like turn the key on then off the start the car connect pump the gass and spin around three times? or what? can some one please help...

ps im not normaly so dumb sounding. thanks.

It sounds like you are using the Digimoto 5.0 beta from what you described. Does your 06 have multiple ECUs? You should know that we just released an update to our beta yesterday (rev 14) which has multiple ECU support for the ELM interface, you should download this latest update and give it a try.

I am fairly confident the vehicle contains multiple ECUs (someone on the board can correct me if I am wrong). The data coming back also suggests that the software was only communicating with one ECU (partial data). I would be surprised if this update did not provide full access to your vehicles information.

Great now im going to go home at 12:00am download it and get ti installed on my laptop and play with my car untill 4:00am, you see what you did...just kidding thanks alot, and you are right threre are three that i know uf, the VECU(inside on the passenger side) LECM(in the dash) and the ECM(under the hood) and i think that it was communicating with the VECU(vehical-electronic.c.u.) insted of the ECU(engine controle unit). but now that the problem is solved thats good. also is there a way i can make a new guage skin? i want them to look like the ones in my car. if its not done jet can you please make the guage a seperate file that i can manipulate myself in the next beta version.

Hi.
I tried installing the above mentioned trial software but I keep gettting errors when I try to register it as a trial version. It says that the serial number is incorrect. Any help would be deeply appreciated

We are currently running as a closed beta, which means existing customers are being given license keys to test with. We will move into an open beta shortly with the application at which time everyone will be able to use it (in trial or licensed mode).

ummmmmmm no, i was waiting for the new version of the digimoto to come out, then i forgot, and fixed my o2 sensor problem by extending the second sensor out further and now i dont get any codes ^_^... but i might look into it further now.

Having no cat does screw things up a bit. i did however clear my buddies codes several times...psssss. VW's eh. i dont even have my screen done yet.
