All I wanted to know about OBD2 (programming) but was afraid to ask

Where/How can I find all the information about communicating with an OBD2 port on a car ?
I am looking at low level details useful for programming - like what to send in what format to what pins on the obd2 connector and the same for processing the response back from the ecu.
Thanks!

Theres a few open source programs out there. You could download the source and have a look at that to get an idea of what's going on?

I was asking more about the other(car) side of the serial port. Between the obd2 port and the interface.
