Question BMW 20 pins connector

Hello!
I have a BMW E46 318i, M43B19TU, fabrication 1999. It is fitted with both diagnose connectors : one round,(in the engine bay), with 20 pins and one rectangle(under the dashboard), with 16 pins. I have heard that rectangle is not functioning. Ok. But, in the round connector, are only the 1,2,7,14,16,17,19 and 20 pins. The pin number 15 ( so called L line= RxD) is missing...and I can't connect a scanning interface. What can I do? Thanks.
