As many who have tried RevFE know, it comes with a simple configuration program which doesn't work worth anything. I am soon going to rewrite it, and I was curious if it should be touchscreen compatible, or if most people play with settings with a mouse and keyboard. It would be fairly easy to integrate an OSK (Thanks Carbon!) and nice large buttons, but such a thing would be obnoxious for anyone trying to configure it on the desktop.... So what do you all think? Touch compatible or non?

RevFE has had the ability to load RR skins for a few versions now, and as I work through the process of internally converting RR skins to RevFE's window format I'm running into an issue. As far as I can tell, the way RR works... is you have a single playlist (audio_player). You also have a media browser (audio_browser) which allows you to add files to this playlist. Unfortunately this conflicts a bit with how RevFE does things, as RevFE allows you to save multiple playlists and edit each playlist individually.

What I'm wondering is which of these ways should I do this:

A: Leave RR's functionality the same when I load a skin, where you only have one playlist and can add-remove files from it.
B: Set it up so RR's Audio_Browser lists playlists, you will lose the ability to add/remove files from the playlists using an RR skin. I suppose I could partially negate this effect by having a separate application for a playlist editor.

I figured I'd ask the users if I have any... 17 downloads of the latest version means someone has got to have an opinion :)

RevFE is officially considered beta as of version 0.43!! What does this mean? This means I consider it to be mature enough to be usable on a daily basis in-car. Granted I've been doing that since version 0.10, but now I think it's enough that others can too. I am well aware that the default skin sucks, however there is a work in progress which is looking promising to replace Default as a real skin.
Notes:
You should edit /usr/share/revfe/settings.xml to be sure musicdir is pointed to where your music is. By default, it attempts to find music in ~/Music
WORD OF WARNING:
The source may not match the version of the binaries. I am working to keep them up to date in parallel, but sometimes the source jumps ahead, and sometimes it's a day or two behind.

Changes from 0.42
- Fixed some bugs in the list scrolling
- Current Playlist scrolls to the currently playing song
- State saves, meaning that when you close RevFE, or shut down windows it remembers what window is showing, and what song is playing. Automatically resumes the next time the program is started.
- Inital official release of the linux installer for RevFE.
- App launcher plugin, for launching non-embedded applications.

Changes from 0.41
- Smooth scrolling lists. Click and drag instead of scroll buttons
- Album art. Information for usage in a skin will be posted on the wiki soon.
- Removed quite a few of the "Default" plugins until they are in a more stable state in an attempt to get a usable "core" set of plugins to be included in all releases.
- Inconsequential random changes and fixes. Nothing else major.
